Parent & Family Engagement Plan 26-27

The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) is a federal program to provide all children significant opportunity to receive a fair, equitable, and high-quality education, and to close educational achievement gaps. A requirement of ESSA is that each school shall jointly develop with and distribute to parents and family members a written plan that describes how the school will meet legislative requirements.

Our Plan to Meet ESSA Requirements

  • Convene an annual meeting at a convenient time, to inform parents of the school’s participation in and requirements of Title Iand the parents’ rights to be involved.
  • Offer a flexible number of meetings (morning, evening, etc.) so that as many parents as possible are able to attend.
  • Involve parents in an organized, ongoing, and timely way, in the planning, review, and improvement of Title I programs, including the planning, review, and improvement of the school parent and family engagement plan and the joint developmentof the schoolwide program.

Provide parents:

  • Timely information about programs.
  • A description and explanation of the curriculum in use at the school, the forms of academic assessment used to measurestudent progress, and the achievement levels of the challenging State academic standards.
  • Allow for parent comments on the schoolwide plan.
  • If requested by parents, opportunities for regular meetings to formulate suggestions and to participate, as appropriate, indecisions relating to the education of their children, and respond to any such suggestions as soon as practicably possible.
